The Department (or Division) of Motor Vehicles is a governmental agency that is responsible for registering and titling cars. It is also where you go to apply for a driver’s license in order to drive in the USA. You will need to visit the DMV in your area if you plan on driving.

Please note that information contained in C.O.R.E. post is specific to the office(s) listed. Also note that some areas have locations designated for international drivers. Please contact your local DMV or visit your state’s DMV website to see if this applies in your community. Please note you can only drive using your home country’s driver’s license for 30 days post-arrival.

Until you have your own transportation, you may want to use ridesharing companies such as Uber or Lyft.
